The painted barrels put me in mind of the Russian dolls . Perhaps that is to welcome the Russian visitors ?

On the caricature barrel supposed to be members of the City Council Paphos (Mayor, Deputy Mayor....)

I don't know. I was just grateful it had a name with under forty letters in it.

I notice on the Calvary Chapel website that they refer to the square as the John F Kennedy Square, so...
likely to be true. Certainly there's a square of the same name in Larnaca.
Likely dates from the time of independence from the British occupiers; many of whom are still occupying the island.
Maybe a full Brexit will sort that little problem out.

The square looks great, the road from the square to town was a nightmare, with cars parked on pavements, and a lot of traffic, was very dangerous at times!
