I just googled "race definition" and that was what came up. It may not have changed for you, but for most of the rest of the world it has.

Now, with regards to physical characteristics, people have done facial composites which show that there are differences between English, Irish Scots, Welsh etc.

I would imagine the differences would be more marked if you compared them to French or Polish composites, but there were indeed differences.

I'm sure if you search online for "national composites" or something similar you will see them. They were quite fascinating.
