Snow Fun in the Troodos

Post by Dominic »

There hasn't been as much snow (or rain for that matter) in Cyprus this year, compared to last. Nevertheless, we were determined to have at least one snowball fight. So we set off to The Troodos to see what we would find...

Are you SURE this blog was published 24th February 2018, Dom?

If so, I've missed my flight!

I learned to ski in Glenshee in Scotland, in the early 70's. Leather boots that gradually got heavier as the day wore on, with water, plus wooden skis over 2.4m long. Edges honed to razor sharp for the ice....

We loved it all though and I i still ski all these years later.

I learned to ski in St.Moritz as my first wife was from that area, but after I skied down a black piste at high speed with her and could not stop I lost the enjoyment and changed to cross-country skiing afterwards which I loved a lot. To spent hours on the frozen St. Moritz lakes was very relaxing except in late Spring time when the ice on the lake was cracking with worrying noises and sometimes with a nasty bang.
