SOS TV
Re: SOS TV
I think lot of people seem to be waiting for this one system to be up and running again, with all the features it had before.

Re: SOS TV
Probably to put off giving refunds!
As a bystander in all this, not subscribing to any such "provider", it seems pretty clear that the EU "authorities" have decided to put an end to these illegal operators EU-wide. Cyprus appears to be complying, as a good EU Member State has to/should.

Re: SOS TV
The clampdown, according to the EU Media, is not confined to "providers" located within the EU, but to all such "providers"Austin7 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 1:50 pm Doubt it! Cyprus is only complying because the original complaint came from a Greek TV Station. Most other systems are still up and running as will this one be in a short while. If not I have an alternative to switch to where the server is based outside of Cyprus (and the EU)
wherever they are located if they are being "subscribed to" (sic!) by EU residents, e.g. Cyprus residents. Especially bars and suchlike.

Re: SOS TV
I've stopped even checking , having too much fun watching my You Tube films. Last night The Way Ahead a WW2 film starring David Niven . Now there was a character , I must re-read his autobiography . Great quote as one Private turns to the other and says " only one good man has ever got into Parliament" " Oh really who was that" replies the other "Guy Fawkes "!! So true especially today.
Should have been eating old fashioned British food while watching but instead the Hairy Bikers braised chicken with peppers and the chorizo sausage which, and you'll like this Austin7, I found over here thanks to the good people on this site.
Tonite Detour as the B film and then my main feature Of Human Bondage the film that launched Bette Davis.
I've no idea how the technology works on these Mag boxes but loads of friends in Hong Kong have the all singing all dancing system that so many on here are waiting to see back up and on their TVs. They haven't even had a slight blip let alone lost a minute's viewing so I guess these guys can turn things off by country bit like Sky who can turn off a single house in a street which also amazes me but perhaps I'm just too old !! Cheers Mike

Re: SOS TV
I know of at least one portal with 600 channels and over 20,000 movies and box sets. I think the cost is about the same as "S" and SOS system, and pay monthly.Trouble is it seems to have been the best one. Do all the others have a massive library of films, access to all utubes, radio, catch up including catch up on all Sky Movies?

That's what I don't really understand are there lots of the all singing all dancing numero uno providers and by them I don't mean the guy who comes to someone's house but the people who he must contact I guess to switch it on or are they yet more middle men and somewhere there is a single source of the numero uno system which they all feed off too?
I understand the Hong Kong switch on guy is in Russia so good luck to the EU policeman who draws that short straw . The Russia mafia petrify the Italian mafia. Cheers Mike

Re: SOS TV
I spoke to "S" yesterday. Still in UK, father is waiting for a place in a hospice, in the meantime he is looking after him. The provider has told him he will offer two months free subscription and expect to be back shortly.

I know Cyprus time is different to all other but I'm still holding my breath. Ready to jump ship to another provider if not back before midnight tonight![]()
Any PM's from anyone using a full, reliable package with all Sports Channels inc. Bein, TSN, Fox Sky etc, catch up, Movie club, etc, will be gratefully received.![]()

Re: SOS TV
Been trying to send a PM, but the system says not allowed although I have been a member since 2016.
Please PM with details if you are not allowed to post.

Re: SOS TV
If you cannot or don't feel able to name the provider, what is the price? Does it have any USA channels?

Re: SOS TV
The board is currently being bombarded by spammers for TV firms. One in particular is very dodgy. Treat any PM you receive from somebody you don't know with a large pinch of salt.
I am having to delete upwards of 20 new account requests a day at the moment. I have got better things to do with my time to be honest. If you post something and it gets replaced by the word "SPAM", just accept it and move on. One account this afternoon slipped through the net, and posted about 20 times before I spotted them. Well, somebody else spotted them, and alerted me.
If you think that this approach is "getting ridiculous", it is a lot better than letting the spammers run riot. Believe me, if they were allowed, they would.

Re: SOS TV
I see Sky are to enter the internet streaming business and will therefore slowly phase out the Satellites I guess. This I presume will help them gain access to more EU countries by obtaining licenses without the need to get satellites overhead. It they get a foothold into Greece then Cyprus will quickly okay them.
So it might not be long before the many on here who have said if they were available they would happily pay the going rate will get their wish. Sky Sports/ films etc in UK €60+ a month then Netflix for the TV box sets €29 a month and away we go.
Maybe I'll phone my pirate DVD man ?
Anyone tried the Primtel or MTN boxes by the way ?

Re: SOS TV
Some folks think they are squeaky clean,
I also watched Sky news about Sky Dishes to soon be a thing of the past, and offer what I think should have happened when we lost Sky here on the island and in most parts of the EU, a paid subscription service via the Internet, I hope all of UKTV do the same, I would be happy to pay as long as it is not stupid money, as Sky was, in the end, I was paying €80 a month!! to a UK supplier, not Sky! as they would not do business here because legal requirements, just to appease the BBC and its licence fee no doubt, now they will be the big losers, streaming TV is here now, not in the future.

Just to be crystal clear are you saying you have got a totally new package provider via SOS as opposed to the old one having been reinstated?. I ask this because I am still not getting any picture, messages etc i.e. a totally blank screen. Like others I paid in advance as I was going to be away over the Christmas and New Year period not envisaging landing in hospital in the UK. For this reason I have not been able to visit SOS personally and I am becoming confused (not difficult) as to what has happened. On balance it occurs to me you have gone over to a totally new system - is that so please? so I can make alternative arrangements because the a"a few days" seems to have disappeared into the ether.
Thank You.

Re: SOS TV
We were told that this full package contains no box sets and very few films, the latter not too bothered about but my wife is into her series on the box sets such as Poldark and Victoria etc.
