I think Paphos Home Market sell them. They certainly have one up in the air.

The BBQ shop in Peyia next to Presto Kiosk sells the original ones. I think they are € 165

Re: Bird on a wire
That sounds more reasonable!

EDIT:
From ~£30 on ebay
Search for 'Black Hawk Kite Bird Scarer'
Re: Bird on a wire
Do you have a problem with pigeons or do you just want to fly something above your home .......... if the latter then a kite would be a much cheaper option!

Re: Bird on a wire
My next door neighbour and I have both had a pigeon problem for years. One of these went up on her roof a few months ago and the pigeons have all gone. I'm chuffed!

These are very expensive for what they are. They are extremely intrusive on neighbours views, being all very well on your roof as you will not typically see them yourself, but others around you have to look at these all the time. I have dozens of photos of multiple pigeons taking no notice of these whatsoever. Then, given a few days of strong winds such as we have had recently, they simply destroy themselves, and your expensive investment ends up as an ugly black fishing pole with some kind of fluttering rag at the top. Brilliant.

As far as being intrusive on neighbours views they are no more of a nuisance than all the barking dogs in most Cyprus villages.

There is a flock of about 200 fly around by where we live and the mess is unbelievable. They tripped the transformer by our place when they all landed on the overhead cables at the same time.

Yep; definitely pigeons. I was in the garden when it happened. As they took off they pushed two of the phases together.
