Medicines in cabin baggage

I've just had a little panic attack... I know that medicines in your cabin bag need to be in a sealed transparent plastic bag (which I'll pop my repeat prescription into as well, for verification).

But are there any prohibitions on things like pressurized Inhalers. I have Salbutamol (Ventolin) which is two puffs as and when required when breathless. And Fostair 100/6 inhaler which I HAVE to take 2 puffs, twice daily, then rinse and gargle. Reason being that it contains a steroid that can cause oral thrush otherwise..

Will my inhalers be confiscated at LTN? I'm travelling on EasyJet to PFO if that helps.

Al have you looked at Luton airport website what they say about medicine and tablets taken as hand luggage ( you would never put your medication in the hold) I should think it’s ok are you having assistance at the Airport or are you well enough to walk etc without it........

Yioula: After our last walk around Luton town centre in early December (when my daughter and I were visiting banks and solicitors), she noticed how I had to pause for breath when climbing the slightest incline.

Back home, she asked if I had requested Special Assistance at LTN, as she knows only too well the horrendous walks and climbs there from Departures to EZ gates. I had overlooked this aspect, so was straight on the phone to Mercury Direct, who popped it all into place for free!

Apparently, it also applies into and out of PFO, which I think I'll find a bit embarrassing. As I think I could have managed that end of the journey fine...

Great you have special assistance it does make a difference especially through security and walking along those endless corridors and the climb up the steps onto the aircraft and retrieving your suitcase .......even Pafos airport has changed since your last visit .......wishing you a fabulous time on the island

We regularly travel from Luton to Paphos and have had no problems with my hubbys inhalers being in our cabin bags. He has the same ones you use.

If you can get special assistance at any airport take it! You never know when there will be a horrendous queue. We took several trips to Cyprus when my wife was in a wheelchair with a broken leg. The assistance got us past loads of queues.

And last on to the plane so that all lockers for hand luggage are full. As was my case in December at Larnaca when boarding with special assistance.

Oh ye prophets of doom... I'm travelling the lightest I've ever gone, with an Antler laptop shoulder case for the fortnight. If there's no room for that in the overhead compartment, then it can just bloody well sit on the floor behind my feet, LOL!

As to being last off the plane, that doesn't worry me really... While the rest of the passengers are waiting for their suitcases to come around the carousel, I'll be one of the first out through Customs (after grabbing a new Paphos tourist map from the CTO kiosk in Arrivals).

Agree with Dom here. I think special assistance passengers are always first on and off, surely? At least, that's my memory of past LTN and PFO flights...

It’s usually first on but last off.......you are wheeled past all .....straight through to immigration and the chap gets your case off ......if you have hold luggage and through to departure........never encountered any problem when travelling with an elderly relative ....

With SA, indeed you will be last off the plane, but almost first through Immigration.
