Incident at Paphos Hospital

Post by Fisherman Phil »

At about 11:30 this morning I called into Paphos hospital with a sample. As I was passing the blood sample clinic, there was a hell of disturbance just outside the dental surgeon. I saw a young man, headlockedby the Police being lead away. Does anyone know what it was about ?

My guess is that he had been making subversive remarks like, "Getting out of the EU is like pulling teeth."

My wife used to suffer from gall stones. On one our trips to Frimley Park Hospital A&E before she was correctly diagnosed, it would be fairly common to bump into policemen who were there with suspects needing treatment. Occasionally one would try and give them the slip and crawl through the cubicles. It was a bit surreal.

I was waiting in line at the Pafos General pharmacy some years back for my Meds, one hell of a fist fight started when a local taxi driver tried to jump the queue, he was removed with a bloody nose.

I've often seen police at Paphos General with someone in custody, sometimes in handcuffs!

Possbly the reason why the police are sometimes seen with an likely miscreant is that with some people here when they get arrested for some offence they then feign illness saying they have chest pains. Thus they get taken to see a doctor at the nearest state hospital!

I wonder if they have to pay 10 euros like the rest of us ;-)
