A little bit late for Christmas, but perhaps for New Year.... My favourite would be the Barolo and the Barbera d'Alba which I enjoyed many times when I was living in Italy... This is what I call quality wine for reasonable prices.

Being half Italian, originating from Istria, and with memories of my childhood there is only one a simple Barbera - although it was always watered down 50/50 with water at the dinner table, and we weren't allowed to drink white wines because they were too alcoholic.
