Where does it actually start, if you're in the Pioneer Beach / Phaeton Hotel area, and want to head back towards Paphos harbour? (The wasteland on the promontory between these two hotels seems to be devoid of a coastal footpath, going by the satellite map view..)
Along its length, are there regular seats and benches, where you can sit down, get your breath back, smoke a roll-up, and take in the view?
Al, it starts at the Phaethon beach Hotel and you walk from there, across waste ground, where archaeologists were working, to Penelope's Church. (Sunset Point) However, when it is winter, I tend to avoid this section as it can be very muddy, with clay that really sticks to your trainers. So, in winter, I park just off the main road, near the church, not at Phaethon Beach.
From the church, it is proper path all the way to the harbour. There are seats along the way. I usually stop at the kiosk passed the Imperial Hotel, for a coffee. Lovely coffee here and reasonably priced.
Then it is path to the harbour and you can continue on passed the lighthouse. Again there are seats along the way.
My usual walk is from Phaethon Beach to Lighthouse Beach and back, around 8 miles there and back.
When I first started walking in Cyprus, after my op, I could just about make it from the church to the kiosk, where Rosemary would pick me up. I used to really struggle with muscle ache in my legs. If I went further, I could hardly make it up steps. However, I am now much fitter after nearly a year of building up my walking and cycling.
The start of the path at the church Penelope built. Before this church is the headland, which can be very muddy in winter. Hopefully it will have been fenced off as archaeologists were working here in November. Last winter, boy racers used part of this land as a race track and really churned it up, making it impossible to walk over.

Sunshine Point, adjacent to the church.

The path just passed the church, in front of the hotels. It is a good path from the church to the harbour.
This is where the old SODAP winery was. This photo was taken at Easter 2017. The taverna here is very popular with Cypriots. Often at the weekend there is entertainment outside at lunchtime and in the afternoon.

The path continues, passed the Alexandra the Great Hotel, down a ramp where you used to cross a bridge and passed the Annabel to Alkes Beach and then the harbour.
Don't be tempted to have a bottle of real ale from Aphrodite Brewery, this one cost me €4.50 In fact Rosemary's cider was cheaper at €3.80. I failed to obey the golden rule in Cyprus, check the price before you order.

Finally, passed the castle, there is now a well laid path to Lighthouse Beach and beyond to a hotel where, if we walk that far, we have a coffee.
Marvelous info thanks, John! I think I'll wait for a free beer or two when I make it back to the Veronica after walkies, LOL!
Planning on tackling the coastal path in two halves semi-daily, interspersed with walks on other days around the Old Town, Harbour area, Fabricas Hill, that kind of thing. About 4 miles gentle walking daily, to try and work some strength back into my old calf and thigh muscles...
