Police issue Xmas warning to drivers
Re: Police issue Xmas warning to drivers
This isn't News, it is just plain common sense.Paphos Life wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2017 4:23 pm Fortunately, police said, there were no serious injuries....

The article doesn't say what Nationality the guilty drivers were.
Amos.

What difference does that make? And since most news occurs when people don't apply common sense, where is the harm in having a bit of news that promotes it?

When posting stories like this, can you please actually post the story rather than just a link.
Forum etiquette is not to just post a link.
Many thanks.

Re: Police issue Xmas warning to drivers
I didn't just post a link, I posted the first paragraph of text. Now, sometimes, the newspaper the article comes from only starts with a small opening paragraph, but such is life. The post is created automatically. I cannot post the full story. This has been explained to you before. I don't intend explaining it to you again.

Re: Police issue Xmas warning to drivers
Wow, I thought that was a perfectly reasonable question as other forums don't allow just a link to be posted.
Out of interest, when was this explained to me before? I don't recall asking the question before!

Ah if it wasn't you who asked then I apologise. I thought it was.
Basically, the post is generated automatically. I give the system the URL of the news page, and it takes the data from it. It works out the title of the article, and grabs the first couple of paragraphs. Then, a post is generated in the NEWS section of the main website.
I also programmed it to generate a post on the forum, alerting people to this post.
If the first paragraph in the article is very small, then unfortunately, there won't be much displayed in the post on the forum. I could display the entire article, but then, the news site would complain.
I could also check each post, and see if it is a bit too small. If it is, I could add a bit more text. However, it is a lot easier for you just to click the link and follow the story.
