A new addition to our home....

Post by Jimgward »

Nothing like Photoladies...

We have an elderly Lhas Also (14 1/2) who is no one-eyed, has bushings disease, almost deaf and more.... We decided to get a pup to transition, give some stimulation to the other etc.

SHe's very unusual in terms of a brown nose and blue eyes.... Almost human-like eyes.... It's a gene throwback, called the Kidney gene....

What a sweetie - and with such a pretty face, you are going to have your work cut out to resist her pleadings. :D

Ŵe left her this afternoon with my daughter, while I took the outlaws for lunch to a jazz bar.... my daughter’s comment when I came back was.... “she’s a wee madam”.

Very similar to our Ellie. Same pattern of colour but a different shade.

Totally agree with the comments on your new pup, Jim, can I ask please was she found in Cyprus? I am looking for a miniature Dachshund, but no luck on Cyprus so far.

Sorry, Jim, no. Purchased from Yorkshire. We had too many friends who had purchased non-KC registered versions and had very difficult and expensive health problems ensue. There are far too many puppy farms in the UK now. Many turning out ‘fashion’ pups, such as French Bulldogs, Cockapoos and the like. A vet friend says the amount of surgery having to take place on some new pups is horrendous. She advised that sometimes a good old Heinz dog was a better option for many.

I am allergic to dander (hairs) of dogs and cats, so a dog that didnt cast was only option for us.

BTW. Many thanks for the kind comments. She is doing really well. We send her to a lovely lady twice a week for socialising, training etc. She mixes with all breeds and ages, goes for long walks and is familiarised with cattle, horses, sheep, cars, trucks, trains, guns, children, umbrellas..... you name it...

It is great for preventing a happy or nervous dog....
