That's correct!memory man wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 7:28 pm I presume it's an incline of about 200 - 300 mtrs
rather than height.

Re: New Walkway
Yes, its true that visitors using the walkway will presumably have to pay to get on to the main Roman villa site. The Fabrica hill sites being free of charge. At present the only official way onto the main site is via the main entrance near the harbour. So there will need to be a ticket booth and possibly toilets either at the Fabrica end of the walkway, or at the Roman hotel entrance. I expect that all will become clear in due course when the work is nearing completion.
Seeing the height above ground where the walkway crosses the harbour road I realised it must be over 15' above the road to allow double deckers to go under it.

Re: New Walkway
When I mentioned wheelchairs, I was referring more to their width. Will two be able to pass each other? As you say Shane, time will tell. It will be a great addition to the area though.

I really look forward to walking on the new structure.
The incline however looks a bit steep for wheelchairs, disabled persons.

Re: New Walkway
Bizarre, you've got sides sloping away from you and various flora growing under your feet ........ are those really bullrushes you can see in the cross-section drawing of the walkway?

Re: New Walkway
As to whether the main road up from the harbour to the Mall is reopened by 8th Dec, Dom, if it is- then I will happily stand corrected!

Why not have a stab at predicting when they will finish resurfacing the road into Polemi while you are at it?

Re: New Walkway
Well at least the road past the market is now open again as from last week end. But is one way towards Chloraka direction for most of its length. That should also help to reduce the queue of traffic trying to get up the hill from K.Paphos to the old town! It is wonderful to see that before too long most of the old town roadworks will hopefully be a thing of the past!

Re: New Walkway
Agreed Dee, the improvements made are impressive, the walkway will add to the general improvements when completed.
Re: New Walkway
That's what I was wondering, Mark. If it isn't, then it will still be a new adventure to go and explore and marvel at, eh? Get close up, then try and figure out how they are going to embed the footpath and side safety rails along it's length...

Re: New Walkway
I’ve been using it since it reopened which is great news for me as I live below the old market ......... means I can bypass the Kennedy Square area completely when I need to!Kili01 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2017 8:29 pm Well at least the road past the market is now open again as from last week end. Incidentally, I did drive past the Kennedy Square today en route to the Muse & they were putting up the Christmas “tree” & also appeared to be landscaping the final area between the car park & the old police building! I guess they are having a final push to complete things before the City of Culture closing event on 30th December?

Re: New Walkway
I read that the President of Cyprus will visit Paphos very soon to see all the changes. I thought coming weekend.
