Post by STELIOSBWFC »

Hi all
I have a mate that lives on Limnaria and I sent him a picture of my Sunday roast. He said he can not find a place that does a good roast. Can you help please.

I often wonder when I see this thread which appears very often if there is a Cypriot site in the UK with a similar thread asking where the best lamb kleftiko can be found on a Sunday or is it just us Brits that hanker after such "home" food ? You would like to think there is but probably not. Mind you the Bangladeshi who runs the spice shop in Limassol was telling me there is a lady that, every Saturday evening, make tons of Chicken Biryani and on Sunday morning almost the entire Bangladeshi population of Limassol and the surrounding area goes there to pick up a take away for their traditional Sunday lunch so who knows !

Saint Paul's Pillar do a good one the Yorkshire pudding are to die for. The only negative for me are portion sizes are far too big.

If you happen to be a UKCA member, there is a delicious Sunday carvery buffet with 4 roasts and all, the trimmings!
The Kamares Club also do a Carvery buffet with 2or 3 roasts, plus alternative hot dishes, veggies, roast potatoes etc. This is part of a 3 course meal which includes a cold salad buffet starter (or soup) and a dessert or fresh fruit to finish. You won't go away hungry!
You need to book a table beforehand.

We've only been there a few times over the years, but I have to agree
with your take on the Yorkshires............and the portion size.

I have just found òut where Limnaria is!! I thought at first it was a village!!

Walk down to Bar Street area, your mate not you, and there are plenty that do a good roast.

Brittania for one.

The best is probably the new First and Last.

Clearly your mate does not get out much. Seems there are Sunday roast everywhere.

First and Last is ok but last time I went there I sent back the yorkshires twice as they were solid. not sure how you make them that way but really don't need the recipe.

He said he hadn't found a decent one. He didn't say he hadn't looked.

Hi all I have passed the info on. Not to share personal info about him and his life. He has live on Cyp for 15 years and is a smashing lad. I love him to bits and very proud to call him my mate. William Morris, I see what you are trying to imply. Did you not question about another post and the way the MAN looked after his family. Thanks for the information on Sunday roast.

I am just saying that, according to the replies above, there are plenty of places on he's doorstep that do a good sunday roast. I hear that Pambis is also renowned. Just surprised that he cannot find one. That's all.

Pambis 5 Lamb chops chips and peas. Not a Sunday roast but mouth watering. The request was to find the best one. Yep plenty on his door step. But where is the best Sunday roast.

See, that is where folks get confused!,

It does not say "BEST" . It just says "a place that does a GOOD roast".
