Can anyone explain the difference in other tariffs please. We appear to be on 05.

As just posted above. I don't know if Tariff 05 is changing but I will see if I can find out.

It looks like 01 may be replacing 05 and they say that the new tariffs should result in a 4% reduction for most people.

Hello to one and all!
Does anyone know what is the 'low level' income for a married couple to get the reduction in electricity charge?
Has anyone on here applied for any of the concession that is mentioned in the Tariffs document?
Feel free to post or please send a PM.
Many thanks in advance of any replies.

We were on Tariff 05, getting cheaper electric during the winter months and paying a premium for electricity consumed between 9am and 5pm during the summer. We have been told by eac that we will be transferred to tariff 01 and our November bill will be calculated at this new rate, which is around the cheap rate we were paying on 05. Our meter is now registering usage on the old peak rate cycle, so I hope they do not charge us for electric used at this rate of around 30c per unit.

Hello John
I am on Tarrif 05 and it has always had a single rate regardless of time of day. The two rate ones were 06 & 07 (see link). Perhaps that is the one you need to compare to.

Re: Electricity Tariffs - Effective 01 November 2017
Sorry, we were on Tariff 07. My worry is they will charge us for expensive electricity between the period when our meter was read in September and the reading in November. Usually we only use around 10 units of expensive electric between the meter reading and the beginning of October when we used to go on the cheap rate. At present, our meter is only reading at the expensive rate.
Previously, our meter stuck on the expensive rate and eac charged us for all the units registered, even though they could see the meter was at fault as it was not switching over to the cheap rate and we had a bill showing 0 units at the cheap rate.

I have just checked my latest bill and using the same consumption on the old 05 tariff I can confirm my bill has reduced by about the 4% mentioned above
