Passiflora incarnata - Purple Passionflower

I've been waiting for it to flower now for a few days, but this morning it's gloriously sunny (but cold) and the sun is full on the front of the house.

As I went outside to see my mum out from picking up her birthday present, I spotted the first flower.....
My husband is terrified of it, he thinks it's going to grab him by the throat as he passes by it to the front door

We've got loads of them. The bees and wasps love 'em. I think they are amazing. It is just a shame they don't produce any fruit.

I fell in love with it when I saw the photo on the packet plant a few months back.... my husband said it was a "flower of the devil" but he still let me buy it

I think it's gorgeous and can't wait for the rest of the buds to open up
