Sad news: Fats Domino was one of the first rhythm and blues artists to gain popularity with a white audience and his music was most prolific in the 1950s.
Domino's music has been credited as a key influence on artists during the 1960s and 70s. Elvis Presley introduced Fats at one of his Las Vegas concerts by saying "this gentleman was a huge influence on me when I started out".
Paul McCartney reportedly wrote the Beatles song Lady Madonna in emulation of Domino's style.

So very sorry to hear this sad news - I loved the man and his music. On my wedding day many many moons ago my husband and I danced the first dance to "Blueberry Hill" - great tune, great song. RIP Fats and thank you for many many happy memories.

Funnily enough I was reading an article about Elvis the other day. He was being interviewed after a show or something, and somebody said he was the King. Fats Domino happened to be near by, soaking up the Atmosphere. Elvis gestured to him and said "There's the true king of Rock n Roll".
He certainly had a good innings.
