Finding stuff in the directory

Post by Dominic »

I am in the process of making the directory easier to use.

I have added a search field. If you start typing something in the search field, for instance "tyres" you get a list of phrases you can select. This will take you to the appropriate category.

I am still tweaking it. For instance, when you first start typing, the dropdown that appears displays "kodi" at the top, followed by an alphabetical list of words. I think it does this because "kodi" is the middle word in the list. If you think that is bad, when I first implemented it, the middle word was "knob". I changed that because otherwise it gave the impression that the default search was knob. This is not the case. And incidently, "knob" refers to "door knob" and will take you to the DIY section. I have temporarily changed that entry to "nob", so now "kodi" is displayed instead.

Anyway, if you don't get a dropdown of words appear when you type in the box, you may need to reload your page. You do this in Windows by pressing CTRL-F5. You will only have to do this once though.

I would be grateful for any feedback.
