The people digging the drainage trench near our house appear to have dug through a fresh water pipe. There was a lot of shouting and a fountain of water next to the digger. Had it been a cartoon there would have been a mouse sat on top of it.

Anyway, this probably won't affect many people, but if you haven't got any water in your little corner of Polemi, that's probably the reason why.

In case you haven't already spotted it, after a break in the water pipes, earth often enters the pipes and will find its way into your water supply. If you have a water filter at point of entry, check it once your "straight from the mains" water is running clear again. You may well need to change it now, even if it was new just a couple of weeks ago. If you haven't got a filter, then mud may well have entered your storage tank ...

It didn't affect us. Wherever the water goes to, it isn't us. Good job too really, as the hole still hasn't been repaired, they've just turned off the relevent pipe.

I was just mentioning it in case anybody had lost their water.

Was talking to your neighbour the other day who says that the pipe there is no longer in use, the big one that is goes down the track towards us and goes on to feed Stroumbi, Kathikas etc - that exploded twice about a year ago - near he communal bin at the bottom of the little hill, but was quickly repaired.

There are actually two pipes there. And one of them is definitely in use because it sprung a leak!
