Guest viewers on the forum.

Post by Dominic »

Normally at this time of the day there will be about 8 users. They will be either search bots or guests. This morning there were 35 guests. I don't suppose one of them would break ranks and say what is so special about today?

Don't get me wrong. I am totally fine with guest access. Open Internet and all that. I was just wondering what had hot you all up so early. :)

Dominic, do you show as a guest user if you don't log in? I was browsing early this morning and I never log in unless I want to post something.

Yes, a guest user is somebody looking at the site without logging on. I would normally expect to see a few at that time of the day. I was just surprised to see so many.

Perhaps they were up early before going to Lidl for the special offers! The TOTK branch was bombed out at 7.30am today, with shoppers seemingly keen on the bedding.

And they seem to think that after their 3 month ban, all the banned ex members will be begging to be accepted back.

I don't think anything special happened yesterday that should have had folks dashing for a peek at the forum.... Nothing in the news I can see to warrant it.

I have my settings to automatically log me in each visit on my phone and on my laptop if using Microsoft Edge browser.

Dominic - i know that two of my work colleagues looked on this morning to see if there was any more information on the alleged death of a woman at the municipal beach yesterday which is supposed to be widely posted on facebook - Many others may have had the same idea -- Anyone have more info ?

Not uncommon for members just to look in and not be logged into the forum, at anyone time there is usually a so-called guest looking in, normal this.

Dominic hello.

We had a surge of this on CL some years back it was "Bots" trying it on, it soon faded away to the usual small amount of guest's..

Dominic's post yesterday regarding guests and members has finally prompted me to register as a member and become a participator rather than a voyeur ! At the moment we live in Sheffield and have place in Ha Potima which we visit for around 6/7 weeks a year.
As part of the due diligence process surrounding the house purchase in 2015 I polled info from the various Paphos and ex at forums and have continued to review them ever since. It is clear that PL is superior to the other forums and Dominic should be congratulated on creating such a great forum.
Whilst I do not profess to be a great aficionado of social media (much to my daughter's amusement I only have 5 friends on facebook....and one them is dead) I will endeavour to broaden my horizons and try to make an active contribution to this fine forum.
