Why am I behaving so badly?
On my bike ride today, from Penrhyn Bay, round the Great Orme, then to Conwy then on to Penmaenmawr, I saw a lady putting balloons up on the route from Conwy to Pen. I stopped and spoke to her, asking what she was doing. She told me that there is a Memory Walk taking place tomorrow and she was marking out the route.
I cycled to Pen. On the way back I procured a pair of scissors and burst every balloon I could find.
Why was I behaving in such a way?

No, the memory walk is tomorrow and has not been cancelled even though heavy rain is forecast.

Anything to do with the recent story about the man who told the little girl that she nearly killed Bambi by releasing a balloon that the baby deer swallowed when it came back to earth?

Re: Why am I behaving so badly?
The balloons I popped were all different colours. Some were purple. The scissors were given to me by the lady who had placed the balloons on the route. Why did she want them popped? The last balloon I popped was about three quarters of a mile from Conwy. The lady must have got someone else to remove the balloons from there to Conwy.

The council have a ban on the use of balloons?

Could it be to show the percentage of people who have succumbed or been lost to this dreadful illness?

Well done Dominic. The council have intervened. They require a risk assessment of each balloon so they have had to be removed. The risk assessment requires five days notice. The lady who was putting the balloons up got a phone call from the council so they had to be removed.

I shouldn't be surprised really should I?
Is it the whole world that has gone mad or just UK ?
This sort of thing is just one of the many reasons why I wanted to leave over 10 years ago and it's just got even worse .......

Thank goodness that they were taken down before someone got badly injured or killed.Anarita John wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 11:58 am Well done Dominic. The council have intervened. Just imagine the stupidity of putting up balloons with out a proper risk assessment being done! Anything could have happened. A horse and rider going past when a balloon ‘pops’ could have made the horse bolt. The bits of a burst balloon in the countryside could have found their way into the food chain. Think of the children!
I just hope that you wore full protective clothing and had ears defenders on when you burst them all. Maybe you need to visit an audiologist to make sure that your hearing hasn’t been badly damaged? Was a risk assessment done before you popped them all? If not, it may affect any compensation you may otherwise have been due...

Imagine living in a country where hairdressers, by law, have to close on Thursdays.......Galini wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 12:22 pmAnarita John wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2017 11:58 am Well done Dominic. Re: Why am I behaving so badly?
May not be the reason why, but some people are allergic to the materials used in balloons which can cause them to have an anaphylactic shock. I used to work in retail and we had to make sure any balloons used in promotions complied with H&S for this reason.
