Polemi Pipeline

Does anybody have any idea what is happening in Polemi, behind the Metochi Tavern? It looks like they are laying a huge pipeline but I can't for the life of me think why.

Ah, according to my neighbour who runs one of the local kiosks, it is to help prevent flooding. This would explain Polemian's comment about the flooded vineyard the other day!

There has been lot of flooding down there.. At one time to the left looking out of your house they dug the road away to let the water through from the fields. Then I think they put a small pipe in, nothing like the size of those in the picture..

We do get flooding behind us...there is a ditch to the back of us so hopefully the new culvert/pipe laying will solve the problem

I think it may be this ditch where they will be laying the big pipes Sadie..???

Dominic,

It's probably finishing off the half baked solution they put in in summer last year. The drain sections are about the same size - went by me at the shop this morning so I got a good view.
