Not so reliable these days, as you know we have had several problems, but whatever the resolution they give members of many years of real-time view of Cyprus, often, unfortunately, this goes without any thank you's, never mind you can but do ones best. 8-)

No AL I am not looking...someone else now, please. Also, that is the wrong type of IP camera, you need one that uploads a picture every ten minutes or so, plus a service provider, also the ones we use cost over three times that!!! Not that I am buying another.

Actually my one is like that, kind of. Jim is right though, it isn't a Web cam in the usual sense of the word, as it only responds to motion. What you have to do is turn the sensitivity to max. Once you do that, it will be firing images to your ftp server every few seconds. You then need to write a separate program on the server to get the newest image from the ftp location, and delete everything else. Set up a cron job to run that program every 10 minutes and Bob's your uncle.

How do I see the webcam outside of your house Dominic. In this thread it is still showing daylight.

Ah, thanks for that info Dominic :-) It surprised me you have no street light on the pole, but this is Cyprus, and Polemi in particular..

Dominic,
Rather unhelpfully, I keep forgetting to check this out until about this time every evening! Is it pointing along the road in front of you towards the vineyard that floods, or across the fields towards us?

Plus it isn't the vineyard that floods. That's the next vineyard along. Other than that, spot on.

Hope you sort out the teething problems, Digby, Baz and myself found it very difficult to find IP cameras that indeed do send images every few minutes to a server, they must be out there but now mainly for security use, these just do not do what you wish normally, TrendNet do make IP Cameras that do this, you would also need a metal housing and wiring unless you can do this wirelessly, we could not get that to work, this just adds to the cost, no doubt they are now a higher resolutions.

Good luck with it. :)

I am going to hide it again I think, for the time being. It is having problems uploading images, so currently it looks like night, which is a bit silly.

Normal service will resume shortly... :)

It is up again now, and is promising to behave itself.

One of the things I played around with was the motion detection sensitivity. Ideally, I want it to fire off pictures as often as it can, but I think that got it over excited. So I lowered the sensitivity, and then every picture that appeared had a car or truck in it.

I have since raised the sensitivity, as it looked a bit silly after a while. But here are a couple of vehicles for all you petrol and diesel heads out there.
