The Spanish police have been brutal.... People in Madrid in the streets, singing Franco’s anthems and making Nazi salutes....

I’d imagine their stance towards the Catalans will now ensure separation. They’ve handled this all appallingly.

It shows that Franco’s ideals for many, are just below the surface...

Maybe they are ............. but I bet Frau Merkel & Monsieur Macon are having lots of palpitations at the moment along with other senior figures in the EU!

Not often I agree with you WHL, but I could not believe what I was seeing, that said, they were obviously told to be ruthless, as their PM upheld their behaviour. Thank goodness we are leaving the EU, if that's acceptable policing.
