Why Do I Need To Keep Logging In ?
Why Do I Need To Keep Logging In ?
I have ticked the box, remember me, but in spite of that quite a few times, I am asked to log in, does anyone know why, as I never log out.
Thanks,

I don't have to keep logging in - I use Microsoft Edge (Windows 10) for my forum browsing....
Perhaps it's a browser issue? Or possibly something in your settings which clears your cache and logins on a daily basis?

I use Safari on the IPad and have the same problem. Not sure why it's a problem as it seems to remember me for many other sites.

I have to as well, if that sweetens the pill. I think it is an undocumented security feature. Certainly it is not something I have deliberately disabled.

Guess it's my Win10, never had this problem with 7.

I also have safari on my iPad and don't have this problem since I ticked the box.
I also use Firefox, though Microsoft would like to make me use Windows Chrome.

Err, I always disable auto logins ........... isn't that one of the ways hackers can get in & pinch your passwords?

Not pinch, more circumvent. IE, if they get your laptop they won't need to log on. However, they won't be able to see what your password is. Even if you come to change it, the old one isn't displayed.

Re: Why Do I Need To Keep Logging In ?
Though the password is very easy to obtain through the browser if you have saved the login. For
forums and the like I wouldn't worry but wouldn't save logins for banking etc.
No problems here with the cookie so far - I would guess that some folks may be having an issue
as the cookie is secure and served via https. There is a setting for secure cookies in the backend
of the forum but you've probably set that already?
Added: Just looked at the cookie and think I may have spotted the issue - sending you a PM.
Cheers

It's no big deal logging in each time I had a similar issue with a previous forum
so I assumed it was just me on windows 8

Re: Why Do I Need To Keep Logging In ?
I thought I had cracked this but it was a false dawn. I am going to follow a suggestion by Steve now. If you get asked to login again, it will be because I have tweaked the settings. After that, fingers crossed, it will be ok.
