So going on strike will prevent attacks will it ? Ridiculous, their patients NEED them.

Might seem ridiculous to someone like you, but if its the only way, they can get the authorities to act, then yes, good for them

No, but it came close once or twice, if I had I wouldn't have dreamt of walking off the ward, or out of A & E to strike about it.

Well its your prerogative not to strike...but these people are not striking for extra cash..they want to get something done by the authorities, no one should have the fear of being attacked at their place of work.....If it it means walking out for a few hours, is the only way...good luck to them..

Don't agree.

As for not being attacked at their place of work, should that apply to the emergency services and the armed forces, or are you just cherry picking ?

Lloyd

No it didn't, and I didn't agree with them either.

No-one, yes I read it

So according to you Police Officers and the Armed Forces should go on strike so that they aren't attacked at work, oh yes I forgot, they can't ! Then you say I'm 'avin a larf' re. Armed Forces, why is that, you can't make sweeping statements, and then not back them up.

I have to say that I never saw any problems in the many ,many times I have been to Nicosia General Hospital but there is always a Police presence there on a special desk as you enter the Hospital so I assume that there must be issues. Having said that I do not and have never agreed with Strike action whether it be in Cyprus, UK or wherever and am not ashamed to say that, as a civil servant in my working days, I was a blackleg and walked through picket lines as there were people in desperate need of money just as there are people in desperate need of care. It is Ok to say it is only two hours but I bet that escalates and I well remember the nursing strikes in Cyprus a couple of years ago which were absolutely terrible and left many suffering.
I will never condone violence or abuse to anyone and most especially to medical staff but there must be better ways to deal with it than strike action.

Make what up, and why are you confused ? All I asked for was an explanation of YOUR statement, but I'm ok with your reply.
