Diecast Model Cars

Post by 71 Trans Am »

I collect some of the OXFORD DIECAST model cars as they are the latest more refined Corgi/Dinky/Matchbox models at a very reasonable price - On the front cover of this months catalogue is a model of a cyprus peace keeping force landrover - Anyone seen one of these in real life ?

Some beautiful models in that catalogue. Shame my 1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 litre FHC is missing... And no Eddie Stobart lorries?

You'd think that the UN would be using a more modern 4WD getabout in Cyprus these days. But with no danger of roadside bombs, the good old Land Rover still does the job required!

Cheers- AL :)

I've seen many ex-Army Land Rovers that have been auctioned off (not sure whether direct on SBA areas or outside) then 'cloned' with old number plates from dead Land Rovers lying around the villages.

Anyone care to expand on this novel concept?

Cheers- AL :?

AL - If you go to the OXFORD DIECAST site you will probably find the XK and Stobart Trucks.

I would not exchange any of my Dinky toys for this whole lot.

You may find this of interest if you click on the link - Oxford Diecast is a continuation of the Corgi diecast car company having bought the factory and the quality is as good as Corgi and Dinky as i have both in my collection and Streets ahead of lesney (matchbox)
