Bee eater pics (different species?)

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Thanks to the bigger zoom from my new camera I managed some pics from bee eaters obviously getting ready to leave CY soon... Just wondering if it is there a mix of species coming to Cyprus... :?:

OK, difficult against the Sun...

very green

perhaps a young one

still very hard to get a close up as they are ever so afraid of people

and finally the best pic from today - I am still trying to get a proper pic while they are flying over my pool... maybe next year

Lovely pictures. Thanks. I haven't seen any in Peyia this year. Shame.

They are standard Bee-eaters Max, the difference in colouring is because you have got some juveniles in the photos (the ones with the grey/pale backs)!

Amazing shots with your new camera, Max, especially the last #5 one!

Let's hope these beautiful little birds don't end up on a big plate in the chiller cabinet at the local village taverna...

I don't think they are in danger. Tradition is mainly the little Ambelopoulia (Blackcaps) to eat. But saying that maybe beekeeper try to get rid of them..
