Not jumping to the defence of RA particularly & I think their latest action is deplorable ................ but they have changed our concept of air travel immeasurably!

All very well adding more routes but the way Ryanair are losing pilots to other companies such as Norwegian Air who are prepared to offer their staff full time contracts, it could leave Ryanair in a bit of a pickle....

We've never flown with Ryanair but only because their routes were of no use to us when we were in Cyprus and since returning to UK, the timings and routes weren't good for us either. EasyJet, Emirates and Egyptair were our choice from Cyprus and currently Jet2 have provided better timings and overall convenience for our UK departures to Malta and Benidorm.

If flying from Liverpool now we do have the opportunity to test Ryanair and most certainly would have done but not sure we will now until they get their house back in order. I think they've really shot themselves in the foot by their mishandling of this situation.....

We flew with them last year- Paphos to Stanstead then Stanstead to Bergerac . Worse flights we have ever had and we said never again. None of the flights linked time wise so we had to spend a night at Stanstead Premier Inn both going and return. Our next flight was with Jet2 and in my opinion they are the very best - even the snacks and meals were good and lots of room but I believe they are dearer and very few flights from Paphos in the winter. This year we flew here ( Manchester) as virtually no flights to Newcastle in the winter with Easy Jet and they were fine - more space than I remembered from prev flights with them and very cheap - €39 each. The dogs cost us €1k with Thomsons!!

I have used Ryanair all over Europe, since pretty much they were formed. They were a big part of why airline travel is now cheap. At first, they were simply cheap and cheerful. Then they became cheap (with expensive extras) and downright intimidating - checking bags all the time, fining, etc. Now, their services are OK. I've flown Stansted to Paphos return a number of times with them and they are OK. Easyjet are better. Jet2 better still.

Two more updates on the Ryanair debacle which have come through today..... and most recently, Mr O'Leary finally admits they do have a pilot shortage :|
A group of Ryanair pilots has rejected a cash bonus to work extra days after the airline cancelled 2,100 flights because it "messed up" crew holidays.
In a letter seen by the BBC, pilot representatives from 30 of the company's 80 or so European bases have told bosses that most are not enthused.
They want new contracts and better working conditions instead.
Ryanair had offered captains a one-off payment of £12,000 or 12,000 euros, and first officers £6,000 or 6,000 euros.

Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary has said the firm plans to make some pilots delay a week's holiday as it wrestles with massive flight cancellations.
His comments came at the airline's annual general meeting in Dublin.
Ryanair is cancelling 40-50 flights every day for the next six weeks, after it admitted it had "messed up" the planning of pilot holidays.
