As Admin, can you not set PL board default to 'open link in new window' ??? So original PL page remains...

Not happening. Two reasons, firstly, it is against web best practices. Actually, that's lastly, but tradition dictates you list that first. Secondly, it doesn't play so nice on tablets and phones, which is what over half the users use.

The simple solution is to right click the link, and select "Open in new tab".

I have spun this off the restaurant recommendation thread. Feel free to air your thoughts on how links should be dealt with. :)

Users can change setting in their browser, or just right click to open a new tab.

When browsing the forum on my laptop, I right click and open a new tab. When using my mobile phone, I choose not to click any links but wait until I can reach the forum again from my laptop.

Upon reflection, using FF on Win7 desktop, I have gotten used to right-clicking links, then choosing 'Open in New Tab' (thanks to advice on here).

This makes it dead easy for me to tab back to the original page and reply, without losing track of what the hell I was doing in the first place! AL :)

Also, you can hold left Ctrl button and click each link, then each link opens in a new tab and you stay on the link page.
