Not to bore you all silly, but tracheoscopy now done (thank goodness!!!) and result is a gastric ulcer. Not to be downplayed I know, but more bearable than the nightmares I was having! Few more results to come yet but this was the biggie! Praise the Lord.

Nice to hear it. Not often that getting an ulcer is good news, but in this case it is. :)

So pleased to hear nothing more sinister Smudger. Is it medication and diet now?

Thanks for the good wishes folks, a mighty relief.

Yes Poppy, taking the car to the garage to get the suspension fixed after bringing home the meds! No advice re diet, but I do eat fairly sensibly I think. Liquids now, that could be another matter! Have to go back for another tracheoscopy in 2-3 months (deep joy!) so will see how it goes.

Been in Cyprus thanks. The government can find money when it wants to! Was the healthe service any better in the 1980's when money was flowing into the country? No it wasn't; nothing has changed to any great extent!

If you have a blood test form from your doctor, you have no need to register at the front desk to use it, proving your doctor has put a white sticker on it and stamped it on the R/h side. Just goand collect a number wait in queue for the lady to enter your details and give you bottles, and get your blood taken! You do still need stamps on the back of this form, shw will tell you how much.ECG and ultra sound are free, if a doctor has given you the forms.

Agreed, the number of squares ticked on the form indicates how many 50c stickers you need on the back of it.
DO NOT wait until you get to the blood registering window before getting the stamps. You need them stuck on the back of the form before you collect your phials for the blood.

I have to say that once they started charging us to see a Dr,Specialist, prescriptions etc I had hoped that the money would have been ploughed back into the Health Service but that did not seem to be the case.I have never been to Larnaca Hospital but Limassol and Nicosia are so far superior to Paphos which is so badly maintainex

Thanks Al! Meds seem to be making the nausea worse if that's possible, but will see how they pan out over the next few weeks. Whatever, I'm still a happy bunny! xx

Some tests are more expensive than the 50c base charge that trevnhill mentions. He is right you should have the correct stickers with you when you get to the window dishing out the phials, however the first thing you should do is to get the pink ticket from the dispenser as the number of the ticket you get determines when you go into the 'blood letting' room actually to have blood taken and consequently when you finish the procedure.

Thank for that Varky.. I wasn't aware that any of the tests on the form were more than 50c..
This would make it a little difficult to put the correct value stamps on the back of the form..

To avoid problems with the dragon (she is usually the one on the right hand side, the other lady is normal) on the counter handing out the phials one should have a minimum of €10 value of stickers in various denominations ready to hand over. Alternatively if one is purchasing the required number of stickers from the window near the entrance ask the person selling the stickers to stick the required value of stickers on the back of each sheet requesting the blood/urine tests.

I usually buy them in bulk from the stamp window, and stick them on myself.. I usually have a few spare ones in my wallet.
