Evening all,
We will soon be back in Cyprus for the 11th year in a row and can't wait!
We are well aware of the much needed improvements in and around Paphos and the time this has all taken, but do you think that Paphos being the European City of Culture has been beneficial in terms of tourist numbers this year, the economy overall and whether the return on investment has been worthwhile?
Alternatively, with quite a few other holiday destinations now being off the radar for many, (Egypt, Tunisia etc), would any increase in tourism have happened anyway?

The event certainly has helped in focusing the various ongoing improvements and you will be most impressed on how the the town and coastal areas have been tidied up.

It will have made a difference, purely and simply because of the amount of cultural events put on. That is assuming these events, or similar, wouldn't have otherwise happened.
