But Max, I sincerely hope that you are using a proper solar filter on your camera lens for these type of Sun shots? Else they can not only ruin your camera, but more seriously could cause you permanent eye damage!

HOT TIPS from Sir Patrick Moore:

Never look at the Sun with the naked eye, unless through arc-welding glass
Never view the Sun through binoculars or telescope, without solar filters
Never photograph the Sun without a solar filter on the camera

I know it looks quite benign early morning, just after rising, but please heed these wise words well, my friend...

Never used any filters on my cameras but maybe there is so much dust all the time on the lens which filters any damaging rays of the Sun . Dust is perhaps also responsible for blurred pics I present sometimes
If I buy a new camera I will order a proper filter as well as I am after a 60 x zoom one...

and a lens care kit, comprising soft brush, lens fluid, soft yellow cleaning cloth, remember! You can buy such kits quite cheaply from any half-decent camera shop in Paphos. As you can a decent sturdy tripod, don't forget...

A UV filter is a good idea, too, for daytime land and sea scape shots. A normal lens usually detects the sky as all white. With the filter, you see blue sky and white clouds in your photos (unless digital cameras already do this automatically?)
