Re: Post to the UK
Oh dear, that's not good. Both my wife and I used the well recommended DHL service for our passport renewal..

Re: Post to the UK
We've not long renewed our passports and did it all
through Gwennys.
It took 2 weeks exactly from the day they were sent,
to us receiving them back.............renewed.

I renewed my passport via the post office. I didn't time it but it was done very quickly.

Re: Post to the UK
Dominic are you saying you renewed your passport via the PO in Cyprus or in the UK? I am sure most people know that it is a different process when you live in Cyprus ( does it go to Ireland now?) and unfortunately much more expensive
Re: Post to the UK
I've got a feeling that they go to the UK now Poppy.
Had a scary time landing in UK earlier this year, granddaughter's biometric?? Isometric?? passport was not accepted. I had already gone through, not anticipating any problems, biiig mistake!! She was taken out of the line and had to go to a desk to be interviewed, and as I had already gone through I couldn't go with her, only wait at the exit further along the passageway. Panicked when I got there and couldn't see her, but eventually spotted her in line, frantically looking for me, and once she got to the desk the customs chap called me over. Firstly he asked me her name I gave my daughters name, then her dob, gave the wrong month, he then asked where we obtained the passport, I said Ireland. Absolutely no way he said, passports are not issued in Ireland, it's not the UK, how could it be, I said it was Belfast. He was adamant I was wrong, I said that's the information on the website when you order passports on line, he wouldn't have it, I was wrong . He then took the mickey out of me for getting her name and dob wrong, I said just a moment, I have a court order which will explain everything,no need he says, just make sure of her name, dob and where you got her passport from - UK!!! I gave up and was just glad to go and get the luggage!!!
Apologies for slightly diverting the thread, but just to reiterate, got my passport, and later, granddaughters passport from Belfast, all through DHL and both returned in less than 2 weeks.

Re: Post to the UK
I mean I followed the High Commission's advice (see top of page) and went to this link:
https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports
From there I filled out the form, and sent off all the documents, by post, from the main PO in Paphos.
