Choices, choices, WHL.

In the UK we all have choices in what we do for a living, how we spend our money and where to keep it. That includes nurses. It's so easy to put them all on a pedestal because of the job that they do. However, it is their choice to go into the profession and the deciding factor should not be filthy lucre. There was a time - a golden time - when nurses went into the profession as a vocation. It seems now, that you need a degree and a commensurate salary for that degree.

The only tears I have are for people who have nothing at all in life.

Like the people of Sierra Leone caught in the mudslide with nothing to start with and the clothes on their back to escape with; or the people of war torn Yemen who in the middle of a drought and famine and are dying of cholera.

...and you plead poverty for nurses?

Yes Il support anyone one whos doing a hard job for low wages, over a bunch of pampered sportsmen.
I dont give a monkeys on how much Tax they avoid by living in Tax Havens, but then seeing them wrap the union jack round them selves, is hypercritical in my book....as for the poor people of Sierra Leone and Yemen,its tragic....but you can send a donation to alleviate their suffering if you want?

Now now WHL you are causing mischief again yes? The subject of this thread was whether Mo Farah was the greatest Athlete not whether he was permitted to live overseas or fly the flag of his country of nationality. All the other winning medal competitors draped themselves, as you put it, in the flag of the country they were representing save for one who competed as a neutral and used the neutral flag and anthem when receiving a gold medal. Mo Farah is British and ran on behalf of Great Britain. The spectators at the games were as one in their appreciation of his efforts as were most of his fellow countrymen watching on TV.

Mischief, not at all. Just as you post your opinions I post mine...because I might not agree with you, what gives you the right to call it mischief? ..personally Im going to wait until the Drug allegations regard his trainer are over. Before I consider Mo Farah a hero or not.

Al Found it - lady who won Gold under the ANA banner is Maria Lasitskene - she won the Womens High Jump clearing 2.03 metres
