It is just a single, solitary bulb, affixed to the side of a telegraph pole. By day it does not amount to much. But by night, it shines with an intensity not found in UK street lights, which seem dull and lifeless by comparison. Our Polemi street light will sparkle, like a planet in the night sky, a glowing aura suggesting cosy winters' evenings, snuggled up to a warm fire. The chirruping crickets and the warmth of the evening air provide a contrast to this illusion, but complement rather than challenge it. Truly a bulb amongst bulbs.

Nearly had a head on with a massive combine harvester on our way up to the Olive Tree, was on the Letymbou road heading toward Polemi, not a very wide road(nice new tarmac though) about 7.30pm,good job I was taking it steady cos the machine took all the road up!

Nice new tarmac is a fairly common feature at the moment. Even the road to Vretsia has a bit.

You're waiting until it gets dark, to take a nice photo of your quaint street lamp, aren't you?

It won't photograph well. Just close your eyes, and imagine it...

Of course it will photograph well. RTFM and work out the correct aperture and exposure settings for such a static night time shot, with a brightish light in the middle, LOL!

Try two or three shots at various settings. One is bound to come out nicely!

Cheers- AL ;)
