Re: Kamares Club
Each to their own, of course, but I thought the music was strange and not very good. For a moment, before 9pm, I thought we'd wandered into a WWI/WWII celebration (yes, I know it said vintage, but...). But "It's a long way to Tipperary" is a bit iffy. I said to my wife that any minute now we're going to get a Vera Lynn rendition...and guess what.
The food was good, though. Glad it came first.

Also there last night and it was obvious a great deal of time had been taken preparing the area and the food and it all went smoothly. Music wasn't to my liking either and thought it more appropriate to a RBL event and when the singers asked everyone to stand up for 'The Queen' I thought the evening was over. At 9 pm! However, the singers returned to continue the entertainment after a short break.

In fairness, according to Google, it is over 5000km from Tipperary to Paphos, via the A3, so they weren't lying.

Re: Kamares Club
Sounds like the same two ladies that I saw at Armed Forces Day in the Frog & Toad, appropriate that time as it was an RBL function, but not quite sure at a summer pool party! Perhaps it is thought that the areas residents are all crusty old veterans who lived through the war, obviously not quite the case!
Still unsure who can actually use the Kamares club, was told only residents of Kamares, and Tala residents who live in Leptos developments, can anyone throw any light on this, also heard that newcomers tend to be ignored in favour of the chosen few regulars, any truth in this?

Re: Kamares Club
Thanks for the information, who is entitled to use the pool, members only? Is there any option for others to pay to use it?

Re: Kamares Club
No, I think that the pool is only for Kamares residents and people staying in the villas here in Kamares during the summer season. It's never been open to the general public.
The Club and tennis courts however are open to everyone, but the courts have to be booked and paid for.

A lovely setting for a drink, snack or meal. Have always found the staff very helpful and even though I don't know many people have always been made welcome and often asked to take a seat and have a chat. Really enjoy the regular BBQ souvla buffet lunches and the next one is on Friday 4th August noon - 3pm at €10 per person. Tel: 26 880 576 to book a table.

Well the evening as described sounds dire. Each to his (or her) own though. I must say the Tuesday night quiz is a good one, and worth trying.
