Supermarket brochure savings
Supermarket brochure savings
I do most of my shopping in Papantoniou and visit Alpha Mega a couple of times each month to take advantage of the offers in their brochures and have just totalled my receipts for the last eight weeks. I spent €625.66 and have saved €118.91 according to these receipts. Plus the fact that if you have the loyalty card issued by each supermarket you can claim a €10 voucher when you have collected a certain number of points.
Re: Supermarket brochure savings
There are good savings to be made with special offers at supermarkets..
Some of the firms slightly bug me though..
Paps, buy one Get one One. A large tub of Strawberry ice cream... and the free one also has to be Strawberry
Garden of Eden.. The special offer leaflets are at the cash out when you have Finished your shopping.

The only loyalty card we bothered with was AlphaMega. I have no idea how much we have saved, but the knives we collected using their last stamp scheme were really top notch.
Actually that's not strictly true. I have a public loyalty card too, and seem to save about 1 cent every 5 euros. And get lots of texts from them thrown into the bargain. In contrast, I never get any texts from Alphamega.

Don't forget that at Garden of Eden in Chlorakas on Wednesday and Sunday you get 40% off local fruit and veg and 30% off imported stuff. That's why you'll find most of the local taverna owners in there on Wednesdays!
Re: Supermarket brochure savings
What annoys me about Garden of Eden though I suppose it may be thought of as petty, is that their boxes of Cherry tomatoes are only sold as buy one get one free. That's fine if you have a large family or are a committed veggie, but for a single person 2 boxes is too many to eat before they go soft! And they won't sell 1 box at a reduced price to their 'special offer'. So I have to go elsewhere for these tomatoes. Though I buy most of my fruit and veggies there.
