Re: What has Max had for lunch
I was not going to write a post about todays lunch as it was the same type of fish from the last weeks, the only but nice difference was I had company this time (AND I was invited) But if you can't sleep if you don't know what we enjoyed: What the chef recommended to us was fresh fish not from yesterday but from today, just caught as you clearly could see from the eyes.
Starter was a large village salad, humus, tahini, toasted pitta bread. After a short while there came 4 medium sized Red Mullet (Barbounia) and a large platter with home made chips. 10 minutes later arrived the main dish: each one of us got a large Scathari (White Sea Bream Type) of course NOT from the Fish Farm. All the fish was cooked to perfection, what is very important for me is, that the meat is falling of the bone and not overcooked. Actually one could eat the fish raw when it is so fresh. I showed my companion how to eat the Red Mullet the traditional way - not to use forks and knives.
(this way one can enjoy this fish much more) We finished the Lunch with some fruits of the Season (cherries, sweet melon, water melone) and Lebanesico (pudding type) and of course Greek coffee. Can't tell you how much we both enjoyed the excellent food and the lovely cool sea breeze.

Sounds absolutetly splendiforous, Max!
You are definately going in for TWO fish courses these days, helped with all your sides...
Glad you had company today, makes a lunch so much more enjoyable, I think...

Just found out that the fish Scathari is not as I mentioned above a White Sea Bream. It is a black Sea Bream an it looked exactly like the pic of the link:
