A nice day out !!

Hi all,
Any recommendations please for a nice day out ( can't lazy around the pool every day !!!! )
Nothing to far away ( staying in Payia ) thinking of about 1hr drive !!
Somewhere we could have a nice lunch and a pool/ beach for our 9 yr old to have a swim....

Anoyira is a lovely heritage village just in the Lemesos district ....... it has the Pastelli (carob) museum also on the outskirts towards Pachna Oleastro Olive Park.......Nicolas Tavern in the village has a swimming pool
Melanda Beach Fish Taverna is good place to eat and the beach is good for swimming.........Kyrenia Taverna is another place to eat on Avdimou beach.......at times it is exceptionally windy here in the beach and a popular place for kite surfers
The drive from Peyia would approximately take 50mins
Take the A6 until you see the sign for Avdimou and follow the signs (it's not too far away from Pissouri)

Visit Latchi and try Yialos it is right on the beach and food is fantastic.

Forgot to say I have never had a swim in Latchi so not sure how safe the sea is for kids. Always ask a local before you swim.

Take a boat trip from Latchi to the Blue Lagoon incl lunch/bbq on board. Lovely on a hot day. But I must say the suggestion made by Yioula is a very nice one too. Both Carob Museum and Olive Park followed by a nice meal at Kyrenia Tavern at Avdimou beach.

I would say head inland to start with, and do some exploring there. If you want an abandoned village to visit then Foinikas is pretty accessible. Once you tire of the heat, head to Pissouri where you can have a dip in the coolish sea water (cooler than the Polis end) and have a bite to eat.

Me myself personally, with my daughter and three grandchildren in tow, this would be a no-brainer, honest!

Half hour drive north to Latchi. Nice lunch @ Village Tavern (Bamboz) by the harbour. Then onto the beach 200m WEST, which is safe, shallow and warm to swim in. Half hour drive back to Pageia, but take it steady both ways, please!

Had friends over a couple of weeks ago and we did the trip to blue lagoon from Latchifor snorkelling which we all enjoyed a lot. Trip was from 4pm to 8pm including souvla BBQ and wine. Great value at €25 each
