Is there a public dump/waste recycling place in Paphos?

So we love the fact that the bin men will take most anything left by our bin, and that it is collected twice a week. However, sometime we have a large amount of items that under similar circumstances in the UK would be taken to the local dump. What if anything similar is there here?

We notice on the 'new road' to the airport outside Geroskipou there is a waste centre but is this open to the public? Or is it just a case of stop worrying and put it by the bin?!

The waste centre is open to the public. Not sure of opening times but we went there last week before 1pm and it was open. There is a guy at the gate who directs you to whatever skip you need to use.

Houdinibun, if you have larger items like sofas or old BBQs that are not suitable for the charity shop in Polemi, ask Nikki at the village office if there is going to be a special collection of larger items. Alternatively, leave them at the side of the road beside the green wheely bins, the ones by the new cemetary (on the road to Psathi) seem to be the most popular. It's amazing how much stuff gets "Wombled"!!!
