Excellent post, and a very high quality, reassuring and informative link you posted, thanks, galexinda!

Judging by the graphics in the link, it would suggest that the fleet of 5 proper ambulances were indeed transported from Scotland to western Cyprus, placed at various strategic locations- Polis, Pageia, TOTK Kato Pafos, Pafos, and Kouklia

Cheers- AL :o

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER,
EVANGELISMOS HOSPITAL, PAPHOS.

Paphos 05/07/2017
Since its inception in June, 2001, the name of Evangelismos Hospital has become synonymous with excellence for its medical care, treatment and commitment to the residents of Paphos and the surrounding areas.
The expansion of the hospital, the creation of four Medical Centres as well as the inauguration of the 24 hour Emergency Ambulance Service are testimony to this commitment.
It was not only in good faith but also to further improve the Ambulance & Emergency Service that I acquired the majority share in Phoenix Amulance.
When we recently merged the Phoenix Ambulance Service in Evangelismos Medical Emergency department, our aim was to increase our fleet of ambulances and emergency vehicles as well as adding to our qualified and experienced ambulance nurses, paramedics and the technicians who drive the ambulances.

Following this acquisition, we discovered some deficiencies in the organisation, structure and equipment of the newly formed EVH-Phoenix Medical Emergencies Company and I am very pleased to inform you all, that these deficiencies have now been rectified.
As a result of these disappointing shortcomings, EVH-Phoenix Medical Emergencies Company is now solely under the management of Evangelismos Hospital and its qualified and experienced staff.
You can feel confident that, should you need the services of any of our Medical Centres or the Ambulance service, that you will be treated with the utmost professionalism, commitment and dedication by qualified and experienced personnel.

For more information about our Services and Membership Plans please don't hesitate to contact us: 8000 8112 (Free Phone) or when you call from abroad or foreign Mobile Carrier +357 26848112 or +357 26 222 912 (Tomb of the Kings Medical Center)

Some questions for you Dr Nestoras Michael..

If we call for an ambulance, as well as the driver will there be a fully Qualified Paramedic on board.?
Does the new company have the GPS and directions to every members house.?
Does the ambulance have the medical notes about the patients History.?
And Finally will the emergency ambulance take the patient to any private hospital, and also the A&E at the General.. ?

the LATE Brian Ovary? Lord BrianO? You, Jacs and I went round his half-finished new build on Sea Caves yonks ago, to view progress, remember?

So he's passed away now? Sorry to hear that, Jim... RIP Lord BrianO !!! Any idea why he passed away, Jim?

Emphasising with this, because my darling wife Györgyi slipped away comfortably, painlessly, gently at 10:40 BST this morning, God rest her soul... XXXX

I wonder what happened to the post that quoted JT's side of the story from another Pafos board? (NOT an external link, just clear text)...

I read it 2 hours ago, but now it's gone! Deleted by sender, or admin, or sent to Pit?

Mystified- AL :?:

The poster deleted it themselves, before I had even seen it. The reason given was "don't want myself or Paphos Life to be drawn into a legal situation".

Have to say, I agree with the poster's point of view. People know where to look if they want to read it. But given that the person who posted it on PP isn't a member here, please don't discuss it here. Discuss it there. Otherwise he won't be able to answer any questions you may have.

Good evening all,

On 1st March 2016 I started First Line Response (CY) ambulance service with a view to provide a service to UK CQC standards, with UK qualified staff and UK registered Paramedics. On 1st June I moved my young family to Paphos to put all i had into this project aiming to give Paphos what it needed and build a life without U.K. Stress, as we all do! After putting time, money and effort into telling the truth and trying to educate people on clinical titles, levels of care and ensuring U.K. Standards of equipment, we could no longer compete with the lies and abuse from local competitors. More importantly, we didn't want to as we didn't need to. We didn't have to be in Paphos, we wanted to be, to do some 'good.'

To clarify in order to be called a Paramedic (legal title) you MUST be on the HCPC Register. To check someone is on the register, go to http://www.hpc-uk.org/check/ website and select PARAMEDIC and the persons Surname or PIN. Their name and registration details will be shown. I'm more than happy for anyone to check mine to test it. BULLIVANT. An ex-military medic from the RAMC does not make you a Paramedic, an HSE Offshore Medic, does not make you a Paramedic. A UK Paramedic MUST be on the HCPC register and anyone that calls themselves a Paramedic and is not on this register has not completed a course that meets the standards of education and training to apply for registration.

Its such a shame that people believed the person who was wandering around putting our flyers in the bin and telling people we weren't trained. We would of still been active and would of continued to develop to provide the support so desperately needed now.

I do wish you all the best and just maybe if we had enough support we could do it all again...

Can you send me info by PM, please? The much self-publicised paramedic seems to have had 3 or 4 enterprises fail here...
First Line Response were located - very, very briefly - in Emba, just along from PitStop kiosk. I doubt if they were around for more than a few months.

Very strange.

Phoenix ambulance service rose from the ashes of Sophies Angels, or, rather, did not, because donations made to the organisation by the Ladies who bared all and published a "Calendar Girls" calendar never made it to their Bank Account. John was the driving force behind this "Sophies Angels" plan but was frustrated at every step of the way. John was not involved in the financial side of the organisation.

For several years, many of us who lived here then boycotted the Restaurant.

I have known John for many years and would trust him absolutely.

I concur what Flossie has written, I just spent 3 days in the hospital and the equipment was "state of the art"and the treatment first class....the downside is though, at a price.

Dear All

The statement given by the CEO of EVH is full of falsehoods and misdirections, I have cut and pasted here so I can reply with the TRUTH of where we are today.

IT IS OBVIOUS NOW THAT THE PLAN ALL ALONG WAS TO FORM A NEW COMPANY THEN PHASE OUT THE ORIGINAL STAFF AS ALL WERE ON 18 MONTHS PROBATION AND BY LAW THE MAXIMUM IS 6

When we recently acquired the Phoenix Ambulance Service, our aim was to increase our fleet of ambulances and emergency vehicles as well as adding to our qualified and experienced ambulance nurses, paramedics and the technicians who drive the ambulances.

I WAS APPROACHED BY EVH IN MARCH THROUGH THE THEN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER WHO ASKED IF WE WOULD BE INTERESTED IN FORMING A NEW COMPANY WHICH IS NOW CALLED EV H PHOENIX AMBULANCE SERVICE LTD HE HAS SINCE LEFT THE POSITION DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS AS TO WHY
I WAS PROMISED AN OFFICE OPERATIONS MANAGER AND WE WOULD CONTINUE TO RUN A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AS WE HAVE DONE FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS (NEVER HAPPENED)
THERE ARE NO AND NEVER HAVE BEEN ANY PARAMEDICS WORKING ON AMBULANCE FLEET OF EVH THIS CLAIM IS UNBELIEVABLE, UNTIL THE NEW COMPANY WAS FORMED, AND AS WE HAVE NOW LEFT THERE ARE STILL NONE
THERE ARE 2 TECHNICIANS THAT HAVE STAYED ON AND THEY ARE THE ONLY STAFF QUALIFIED TO DRIVE AMBULANCES ON EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND SIRENS
NONE OF THE NURSES ARE EVEN CLOSE TO ALS (ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT) AND PHTLS (PRE HOSPITAL TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT) WHICH WILL SOON BE A REQUIREMENT BY LAW IN CYPRUS

Following this acquisition, we discovered some deficiencies in the organisation, structure and equipment of the newly formed EVH-Phoenix Medical Emergencies Company and I am very pleased to inform you all, that these deficiencies have now been rectified.

I AM A DIRECTOR AND MINOR SHAREHOLDER (20%) OF THE NEWLY FORMED COMPANY AS I WAS RECENTLY INFORMED THERE WAS NO ACQUISITION
THERE WERE NO DEFICENCIES ON OUR PART AT THE TIME OF TRANSFER ALL 3 OF OUR MERCEDES AMBULANCES HAVE PASSED HEALTH MINISTRY INSPECTION FOR EQUIPMENT AND MEDICAL CONSUABLES AND MUCH MORE
DEFICENCIES APPEARED WHEN A DEMOTED MATRON NURSE STARTED TO STOCK CHECK SUDDENLY DRUGS WERE OUT OF DATE DEFIB BATTERIES WERE FLAT, ITEMS THAT WERE NOT ON LIST
OUR MECHANIC CAN VOUCH FOR THIS AND WE HAVE THE INVOICES FROM HIM BACK UP THE STANDARD TO WHICH WE KEPT OUR VEHICLES ON THE ROAD
HOWEVER THE 4 AMBULANCES FROM EVH SIDE WERE WAY BEHIND ON SERVICE HISTORY, MAINTENANCE, BODYWORK DAMAGED ALL IN THE SAME PLACE YOU CAN GO AND INSPECT THE DAMAGE ANYTIME AS THEY HAVE STILL NOT BEEN REPAIRED.

As a result of these disappointing shortcomings, EVH-Phoenix Medical Emergencies Company is now solely under the management of Evangelismos Hospital and its qualified and experienced staff.

DUE TO AN E MAIL FROM JOHNATHAN ANDERSON PARAMEDIC CONSULTANT TO THE STAFF OF EVH STATING IN TRUTH THAT THEY COULD NOT PRODUCE A ROTA WORTH THE NAME THE PERSON CONCERNED WHO HAD BEEN REPLACED AS MATRON, MADE IT HER DUTY TO INFORM THE CEO THAT SHE WOULD NOT WORK WITH HIM AND IT WAS BLATANTLY OBVIOUS THAT THEY BOTH WANTED TO BE RID OF HIM AND HE WAS EVENTUALLY DISMISSED

You can feel confident that, should you need the services of any of our Medical Centres or the Ambulance service, that you will be treated with the utmost professionalism, commitment and dedication by qualified and experienced personnel.

YOU CAN FEEL CONFIDENT THAT YOU WILL GET STAFF WHO WILL TRAVEL IN THE FRONT WHILE YOU ARE IN THE BACK, IF YOU HAVE CENTER CHEST PAIN YOU HAVE TO WALK TO THE AMBULANCE, AND DRIVERS THAT CANNOT DRIVE LEGALLY ON EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND SIRENS.

YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY PARAMEDICS ON THE AMBULANCES

IF YOU REQUIRE PROOF LET ME KNOW ANYONE CAN CONTACT ME BY E MAIL

NOW YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WHO TO BELIEVE

I RESIGNED ON MONDAY AS I STILL HAVE NO OFFICE AS PROMISED AFTER 3 MONTHS AND NOW THERE WERE 2 OPS MANAGERS MYSELF AND A DEMOTED MATRON

Flossie.

Whatever, John had a great thing going for a short while, something we all appreciated, but it seems to have gone "pearshaped" again. I feel so, so sorry for John.

I wish, as always, John all the very best.

I had to look forward and when the offer came to form a new company keeping our name and being promised we would continue to run as before having the back up of a hospital seemed to be the best way as there are going to be a lot of changes from the Health Ministry in the very near future.

I have never taken a wage from Phoenix or any previous company, hence the reason I worked away, the money earned supported the service.

The new company was formed and there was no debt carried over from Phoenix.

I was promised a directors salary ? still no idea what it should be against what actually was paid, still waiting for an office that befits a supposed Operations Manager

Still a director till I complete resignation letter, and I still have 20% shares of the new company.

I have never claimed to be an HSPC registered Paramedic

I completed my Paramedic training in 1983 in the private sector while still serving as a Combat Medical Technician Class 1 pre course requirement then was to complete 25 LIVE intubations and 25 LIVE Cannulations LIVE means not on a mannequin, or rubber arm, or any other training aid

1989 I was then Army Medical Liaison officer to Broomfield Hospital Essex during the Ambulance dispute with Ken Clarke as Health Minister and they did not want Paramedics.
I performed the tasks of Ambulance Officer wearing a hi vis jacket with PARAMEDIC on the back as I was entitled to do, supporting our ambulance crew based at police stations all over Essex and attending emergencies as required.

I have a pin number from British Ass of Immediate Care Schemes no 07870 and it also states I am entitled to use the designation ''EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN '' (PARAMEDIC) or R.E.M.T.

In my humble opinion who are the NHS to say I cannot use the name PARAMEDIC, PARA means more than and with 20+ years as a combat medic, 18+ years as an offshore medic, work in gold mine camps, seismic survey ship medic, and add safety adviser also

My Last word on this matter
