First really hot day this year which started already with 27 C at sunrise and is now 9am 31 C , inland up the hills near Tsada Golf.... Humidity is down to 28 % no wind. All windows and doors closed...

I felt it hotting up yesterday and could hear the odd cicada. Today the cicadas have started their noisy singing chorus, a sure sign the hot heat has arrived. Noisy bug (gers)!

It was nearly that hot in the UK last week. Thankfully it is a bit cooler now.
I wonder if you had 27 C through the night in the UK? Today it is even hotter in my area around Minthis Golf with 27.8 C now 7 am.
When the heatwave in England lasted less than a week, most people there got a a taste what people in Cyprus have to endure for the next 4 months coming. Watch the smiley....
Yesterday it got up to 31c in the house when it was 34c outside. Six weeks ago I had arrived in a thick t shirt, which Rosemary had put on the bed for me to wear going back last night. After a shower and a few minutes sat outside, I attempted to put it on, and struggled due to the amount my skin was leaking.
We noticed yesterday that it was a lot more humid. Most days, over the last six weeks, the sea has been really clear from our house, but yesterday it was hazy for the first time.
Back in Manchester and at 1:15am it was 14c. Mowing the lawn at the moment in shorts and teashirt and around 19c outside and 20c in the house.
Another thing I noticed when I got back. My shorts seem to have grown smaller. Weighed myself and found I had put on 9lb since being in Cyprus, despite long walks and swimming at least 200 metres each day. I'll have to have a word with Gabriel in Kouklia about his meals and his Carlsberg.
