Thank you Ams and PeteandSilvi, brilliant photos. We do have some lovely dragon flies, their wings are so delicate and intricate. Does anyone have any nice butterfly shots please?
Aphrodite, happy with the butterfly pics ? No new Butterfly shots possible in my place this year as there are none around
Max
Yes am very happy with all of the stunning photos, so thank you all. X

What I want to do is have some form of gallery on the main site, so all these lovely pictures can be categorised (and therefore easy to find) and presented in a nice gallery format. What do people think?
Was hoping to trigger something along these lines X

We can have sub categories. As I will write it myself we can have whatever we want. I just don't want to make it too complicated.
These are the last one's from me:
Cypriot Tradition (kite flying....etc)
Paphos 2017
North Cyprus
Cyprus night sky
Festivals (carnival, wine,Tulip, ...etc)
Kah, I remember our pathetic attempts at flying a kite then. I shall have to invest in a better kite (ie one with all it's sticks) before next year's Green Day.

On loading the gallery, you get a list of categories, like the directory.
If you open a category, you either get images, or a list of sub categories
There is only one level of category indentation. After that, you drill down using filters like the directory uses. So Ancient Places -> Bridges will show a list of options on the left, allowing you to filter the displayed thumbnails.
If you click on a thumbnail, it goes full screen and you can then move back and forth through images, as you would expect.
Images can be in more than one category. So a picture of a dog at the Polemi Tulip Festival could turn up in Mammals and Polemi Tulip Festival

Looks fine Dominic, you can tinker with this forever & a day, & still people will not be happy! Launch it & it will sort itself out in the long run ............ if a category starts to fill up with posts then you can always look at breaking it up into sub-categories!

I haven't fully studied your design strategy Dominic, but is it to create the sub categories right off? Personally, I would just create the main categories and then add sub categories as they develop and filter through from the main categories, otherwise you may end up with empty sub categories. I may have misunderstood your method, I'm simply drawing on experience with developing databases. I think I'm on the same page as ApusApus!
Well, what a lovely thread. A good idea, Aphrodite, to ask for those. It's nice to be able to see so much detail.
I agree with PeteandSylvi that a "like" button would be nice. Could that be done, Dominic? A bit like Facebook whereby you have the smiling/wow/crying etc emojis?
