Best part of the speech...

"Get your skates on"

And this bit:
"Proposals will be brought forward to ban unfair tenant fees....."

I have to say that I thought she did brilliantly for her age.It was quite a long speech and she never stumbled once and I'm sure she was keen to get away!!

Because Britain wouldn't be Britain, without cap-doffing, ceremony and remembrance of olde worlde ideas. While some can be quaint, I think it should be firmly away from our parliament.

Otherwise, you get notions into Charlie-boy’s mind, that he is important and his views should influence the country.

I guess that the "national living wage" which is supposed to be raised is a minimum wage? If so, my comment is that this will destroy jobs and therefore is a bad idea.

There is no evidence that a national minimum wage destroys jobs.

What was most interesting was the omission of any mention of Trump's state visit. I gather he is too frightened to come.

Bearing in mind that there will not be another Queen's Speech for another two years is that all that is important, Brexit and terrorism, this was a poor Queen's Speech. Devoid of any content that could be deemed to raise the standard of living of the nation. Yes Brexit and terrorism are important but Brexit is going to happen without any input from the people and terrorism is an ongoing problem. Both these should not take up a lot of parliamentary time. It seems the Tory think tank has run dry of anything other than a 'Sure and Stable Economy' sound bite. Without action, these words mean nothing.
