Very nice those different plants and colours. Indeed typical colours for this time of the year. Lovely. Thanks for sharing!
Love the artichokes.

What a beautiful garden (and views) you have, Max! Do those wind turbines ever bother you at all with noise, when you are downwind of them?

Cheers- AL :)

You have to ask Lloyd (HIC) as he lives very close to them. I am 17 km :!: away. Anyhow it is not many times they rev on full speed as we don't have wind in Cyprus which would justify a wind park. (>6m/s, 24/7) but we got it to show off ... :D

I am surprised to get so many positive comments about my garden. Thank you all. :)
Six years ago when I moved in, it looked very sterile and how the new generation of Cypriots think a property should look like to attract foreigners. ( a pool of course !!, a bit a lawn and 2 palm trees) One can say it looks very tidy but not to MY liking. As everything watered grows so fast in Cyprus I changed the whole lot and led things grow a bit more than one should. But I love it and all the animals around do so. I can see all kind of creatures around the place. Hedgehogs, Lizards, Agamen, Geckos, Chamaeleon, Snakes, Birds, Spiders and many more.. and this makes Cyprus for me.. :!: There is a panorama pic I did luckily to remember how it was before.

Lovely pics Max. Artichoke flowers are weird. Beautiful, but weird!

Max your garden is beautiful and to an extent I envy you, but it does look like a huge amount of work!!

I'm sure it gives you many hours of pleasure though!!

You deserve all the positive comments, Max. From your 'then' and 'now' photos, it's obvious you've changed a barren garden into a paradise where nature can survive and thrive. Bravo to you!
Just checked the temperature of the pool .... but it is still much too cold for me    Image

It is not that much work for me as I don't care if some weeds or wild plants trying to establish and if they are getting too big or ugly I come with big tools...( these type of plants have also a right to grow and have their place in a healthy environment.) The use of weed killer is one of the worst chemicals to use, the look of the dead plants later is horrible and it is actually more work to remove the dry stuff from the ground.
As I was a organic citrus grower in the past (100 trees on 6000 m2) and had huge gardens at the same time in Cyprus, there comes a kind of routine with things.... :)

Indeed, Max- in OP photo #5, you refer to "Decorative Weeds". But to me, theyr'e NOT weeds at all, but wildflowers. They attract the bees and butterflies as well, just like the so-called weeds on our front lawn: Purple clover, yellow dandelions and buttercups, white daisies...

Very clever they are, too. They sense my lawn mower coming and all duck down, ready to reappear next day, LOL!

Cheers- AL :)
