I don't see any link between the points you make...

Most of us moved to Cyprus before it joined the EU and it certainly wasn't our choice for it to do so. Indeed, Cyprus (in my opinion) is significantly worse off since joining.

And those of us that voted for Brexit did so because we believed it would be best for the country of our birth, where our pensions are funded and in many cases where our children grandchildren and other relatives still live.

Wife says that to me all the time; she can't believe the chumps who support Brexit, yet choose to continue to live in a country which enthusiastically supports and endorses everything the EU stands for. If the EU is that bad for your general health and you cannot abide it, why stay?

...and a lot less well well-funded since the vote to leave
Once again you are hopelessly out of touch with reality - but no surprises there eh?

The gains the stock market has made have done wonders for my pension pot! ;)

You know, I'm amazed that even after all this time you remainiacs still result to insults when discussing the subject... Calling us 'chumps' now is as effective as labelling us Little England racist xenophobes during the campaign... I really would have thought you would have learned from your mistakes...

Um, you can't very well chastise somebody for insulting you while at the same time insult them.

And I can assure you, HiC is not the voice of the remain vote. He is the voice of HiC.

Well said, Dominic. HiC's holier than thou arrogance leaves me quite flabbergasted as does the constant insults to everyone from his best best pal on the forum OhSusanna.
But to be fair, he has his views as does his best pal, and I really just wish he had bothered to vote remain so I would have a teeny weeny bit of respect for his constant snipes at the under educated, unintelligent, idiotic, foolish, dumb, chumps who voted to leave his beloved EU. All 17.4 million of us including his son who he gleefully snipes at as well. How weird.

I wish the UK Brexit team under David Davies every success today and over the next two years in their very difficult task. I trust them to get as good a deal as is possible in the very adversarial climate created by the EC and their supporters.

I wonder what the EU bloke has got on his paperwork??????
Shaft the UK for daring to leave.
Bill them €50 billion and more for the privilege of leaving.
No way allow any UK citizens to have protection in the EU despite the UK offering it to EU citizens.
And on and on and on, just so the UK pays the price on our terms.
Allow them nothing.

And this bloke hasn't got that obnoxious twerp Druncker on one shoulder und Madame Der Fuhrer on the other telling him what to do?????????????

I bet he has.

What a joke.

A pity the EU parliament doesn't have the power to ratify the agreement, perhaps Nigel and his MEPs could shoot it down in flames.

I've just seen this on facebook and thought it appropriate. A quote from the ancient greek philosopher Socrates " The secret of change is to throw all of your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new"
A pity some cannot apply this to BREXIT !

You are not alone. Just because we don't always respond to every one of HiC's inane postings, does not mean we are not here. Just thought I would raise my head above the parapet.

Slightly different angle on what your wife says -
I and hubby have had lunch the last couple of days with a good Austrian friend (of hubby's) .

During our conversation I mentioned this forum to him and said that there are still many people very supportive of Brexit. And showed him some links.
He looked and said - in utter disbelief -
"Who are these people"?

One other point he made.
With Macron now firmly in control following the French parliamentary elections - I think he has an absolute majority - he said that Brexit would be harder for the UK. Apparently, after WW2 France and Germany signed a friendship pact. They have regular meetings, and work together a lot.
He reckons that Macron and Merkel will work well together to get as much of the business that will leave the UK as possible.
I should add that he was also very much in agreement with the Swiss article posted a couple of days' ago by Jimg. Thanks Jim.
He is actually very sympathetic towards Britain, and can't really believe what is going on.

Varky- I’m pleased that you are prepared to stick your head above the parapet. Never fear- the worst that could happen is you get a rattle or handbag lobbed at you by a sore loser.
P.S. Remember Corbyn’s immortal line “I’m going nowhere”. Let’s hope he keeps that promise!
Roll on March 2019!

I'm sure he did say all that but from my memory of his speech, and he did go on a bit some of which I admit was above my head, but there were some positives too and I thought it was a balanced speech so why just report the negatives?

Mark Carney ? He needs to head back to Canada, and stop spreading doom and gloom in our country. He must have known the result of his Brexit 'warnings'. Another Cuckoo in the nest.

I cannot understand why Happy in Cyprus and Oh Susanna do not rescind forever their UK citizenship and become Cypriot or German or wherever they choose to reside. They are without a doubt the most objectionable pair on this Political forum with their constant non stop harping on and on about what a terrible mistake the 17.4 million under-educated, low IQ'd, chumps ( their comments over and over and over again on the forum----not mine)have made by voting to leave the fantastic/ how can we live without it/ what a wonderful Utopia on Earth/ European Union.
Become German or Cypriot or whatever EU country's citizenship you choose and then have a pop at the Brits.
I voted to leave the cesspit and cannot wait for March 2019.
And I do hope that the lying shyte dead politicians who conned us into voting to join a Tariff Free Trading Union in 1971 are spinning in their graves with shame.

Outasite should be Outaideas. Resorting to “objectionable pair” puts you with some of the others on here, who can’t stand alternative views,
