Police arrested two people in Paphos early on Wednesday on suspicion of selling women for sex.
A police associate who visited a Paphos pub was approached by the 72-year-old owner and told he could have sex for €100 with a 39-year-old woman with whom he was talking.
The man agreed and paid with two banknotes which had been marked by the police.
He then went with the woman to a room above the bar. A little later police officers searched the pub and found the sum of €2,690 which included the two €50 notes the associate had paid with.
Both the woman and the owner of the pub were arrested.
