Another terrorist attack in London last night.
Another terrorist attack in London last night.
Another attack on the UK last night. several killed.
Three suspected assailants all shot dead by police
Six pedestrians killed, more than 30 wounded
Van drove into pedestrians on London Bridge
Assailants went on stabbing spree in Borough Market area
PEDESTRIANS have been run down and passers-by stabbed in the latest terror attack to strike in the heart of London.
Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley said nine people lost their lives in the incident, including three assailants who were shot dead by police.
He said while he could not be 100 per cent confident, he believed that only three people were responsible for the attack.
The incident began at 10.08pm local time (7.08am AEST) when a white van travelling south on London Bridge swerved into crowds of pedestrians.
What followed was an eight-minute rampage, as the three men got out of the van and proceeded to stab pedestrians in London’s Borough Market area at random.
Police and paramedics were on site in six minutes and the attackers were shot by police gunfire outside the WheatSheaf Pub at approximately 10.16pm.
There are still no firm details of casualties but the BBC reported that more than one person had been killed. The Sun newspaper, which is based in offices adjacent to London Bridge and Borough Market, is reporting up to seven people are feared dead.
There were reports of explosions in the precinct, but it was later confirmed that these were controlled operations.
EYEWITNESS: Attackers shouted ‘This is for Allah!’
POLICE ADVICE: ‘Run to a place of safety’

Horrific news. The world is going or has gone mad. Those poor innocent people.
Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
Shocking. How to stop these attacks? 48 in hospital and 7 dead, plus the 3 terrorists.
RIP victims.
RIP victims.
Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
Sadly until our gutless Politicians grow some balls, and deal with these evil scum, in the appropriate way, we will just have the usual laying of floral tributes lighting of candles, lighting up Big Ben/landmarks across the World and a pop concert thrown in...until the next atrocious act.
Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
What has Corbyn got to do with this? and those remarks are truly stupid. And Mrs May is doing more? In the end, a dialogue will be the only hope for us all.

Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
Sadly they don't want a nice chat with Mr. Corbyn, they want to kill us - it is in their holy book.
Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
I certainly think that some of our Laws have to be changed to allow us to " do whatever is needed" to stop this terrorism.
What I don't know but we certainly have to stop those that have left the country temporarily from returning and yes this may affect innocent people and impact on human rights but there are no human rights in shrouds.

Totally agree, good post, if the Government had prevented terrorists from returning to the UK, things might not be as bad as they are. It beggars belief that they can't see the damage they have done, or couldn't foresee it, we could ! The trouble is that the 'do whatever is needed' will have all the do gooders and human rights brigade up in arms, funny that, they will shout loud and clear for anyone except their own !
The cosy chat is an idealistic dream, beyond comprehension. Too little too late, the government must take action now, no use having COBRA meetings and doing damn all.

Mrs. May has said "enough is enough & things have to change ".
Better late than never I suppose but I feel a lot more could have been done some years ago as these sort of fanatics have been amongst us for a very long time & people, friends, relatives know their views on our society & how they feel about our way of life.
Hard line Muslim fanatics must be found, arrested & deported. If they were born in the UK then these dregs must be taken off the streets.

Sadly though, when Mrs. May says 'things have to change' she is talking about clamping down on the Internet freedoms of the rest of us - not rounding up the 3,000 potential terrorists on their active watch list who are still free to walk among the population...

Not sure you are right there CG - I think there may be more to come once we have a duly elected Government

Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
I do hope so... I sense a change in public opinion today which can only be a good thing.
Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
Knee-jerk reactions will end up with mistakes.... I would have hoped a political strategy on this was already formulated - a cross-party solution or solutions.
As an example, we made the mistake in Ireland, with internment without trial.... all we did was radicalise and give opportunity for training, indoctrination and hardening.
I don't know what the solution is, I'm no politician but I know some things that are doomed to failure...

Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
I don't think you can all in knee jerk, we have many attacks such as this, calling for a solution, and what has happened, nothing. We have had enough, maybe you haven't, but I suppose it all depends on whether or not it affects you.
Solution, we can start by deporting the 3000 potential terrorists, and their families. Deport anyone harbouring a terrorist, and their families. If this carries on without serious action by the Government, they may be faced with a situation that they can't handle. Time to wake up.

Re: Another terrorist attack in London last night.
The 7/7 bombings were 12 years ago and there have been plenty of atrocities in the UK and across Europe since then...
So hardly a knee-jerk reaction to start to do something about it instead of yet more appeasement, candle lit rituals, lighting buildings up with flags and shouting 'Islamaphobia!" any time anybody dares criticise Islam. That clearly hasn't worked...

We don't always agree, but I have to say maybe you have a point. As has been said, we are all afraid to tell it like it is, because we might be arrested for racialism, or deemed to be racist, but if enough start to make a noise, they can't arrest all of us.

Unfortunately the present Politicians haven got the guts to do anything....expect, I am London, lighting buildings up in the Red White and Blue more pop concerts...until the next evil deed and the whole crocodile tears comes round again.

Fair point Firefly but where the hell do you start? My understanding is a nation states first duty is to protects its citizens. Three terrorists killed to me means that things are starting to get serious

How about starting with rounding up all the suspects on the intel radar, then expelling the foreign ones, and interning the home grown ones, theres a start.jagwheels wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2017 6:43 pm Fair point Firefly but where the hell do you start?
