Quote of the week
Quote of the week
That must be down to the guy from the BBC who, when charged with the fact that the audience at the Cambridge Debacle were biased towards Labour, insisted the audience was a fair representation and it was just a shame that the tory supporters in the audience were rather shy!!
It was a set up pure and simple. All the cheers when Corbyn arrived and the boos for Amber Rudd. I doubt tjere was one Tory or UKIP supporter there.

Maybe because May didn't have the guts to show up. How can you cheer a spineless absentee without the courage to face the various opposition parties on an equal footing? Do you really think that this nonentity of a woman can lead the country? Fewer people do, as the polls are showing.

Re: Quote of the week
“If I was sitting in Brussels and I was looking at you as the person I had to negotiate with, I’d be thinking ‘she’s a blowhard who collapses at the first sign of gunfire’
(Paxman to May)
Most definitely the Quote of the week if not the whole campaign.

I didn't watch it (I never watch or listen to The BBC), but from the reports I've read May's decision not to appear in front of a baying mob of detractors was completely vindicated.
The BBC is a disgrace.
The BBC is a disgrace.

Re: Quote of the week
All three quotes are as bad as each other. Tim Farron trying to be funny and failing miserably,Paxman just downright rude and again not funny and the BBC bloke clutching at straws and a downright liar!

Re: Quote of the week
Well the audience certainly seemed to find it amusing.....
And poor Amber Rudd ended up standing at the debate in place of Theresa May just 3 days after losing her father, which makes it more apparent why the other speakers were mightily miffed about her failure to attend.
Our current PM apparently was working on the Brexit deal..... if she carries on like this, she won't need to be worrying about it at all. Someone else will be taking care of it for her instead!

Re: Quote of the week
I cannot understand why people feel the Prime Minister could not be bothered to attend last night's debate??? She had already said some time back she would not attend any TV debate preferring to meet the people on the hustings. As I recall Mr Corbyn said he would not attend either but chose at the last moment (for reasons known only to him and his shadow cabinet colleagues) to do so. I therefore cannot understand either why the other political participants were surprised because they had been aware of the Prime Minister's decision for weeks. Amber Rudd was the chosen Conservative spokeswoman and, despite her sad loss, duly attended.
I watched the programme and debate it was not but just an excuse to see who could shout the loudest and pour scorn on Theresa May (so what is new).
I feel Amber Rudd, Mr Corbyn, Tim Farron and Mr Robinson (SNP) acquitted themselves quite well and made some valid points but the programme itself was, in my view, a total waste of time - we have all heard it before and Mrs May made the right decision.
Thankfully only seven more days to go.

My apologies to Mr Robertson Road Warrior. I thought he acquitted himself well even if I did not necessarily agree with all he said. Hes pretty good when he is on Question Time too.Road Warrior wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2017 9:12 pm Angus Robertson, represented the SNP, not Robinson, the leader of our SNP, in Westminster.
