Nonsense. Speaker's Corner is still alive and well. I am sure she would go down a storm there.WHL wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2017 10:25 amAgree with you......Great Britain was one of a few places, were you could stand on a street corner, and have the right to say what you felt....those days are long gone, only Muslim hate preachers are awarded that right now.

Not true. She is still capable of saying what she wants, as anyone is - except where it involves hatred, bigotry, racism, sectarianism and so on, where you will be stopped. That's fine by me. I welcome views even completely opposed to mine and I welcome my freedom to oppose views like this. I abhor, though, when those views are wrongly used to incite hatred and she did that. She recently lost a court case costing her over £300,000 because she wrongly libelled someone. She needs to learn not to make things up.WHL wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2017 10:25 amAgree with you......Great Britain was one of a few places, were you could stand on a street corner, and have the right to say what you felt....those days are long gone, only Muslim hate preachers are awarded that right now.
After the Westminster attack, she tweeted;
Hopkins tweeted: "Explosion in France, shooting at a German hospital, knife attack in London.
"And Ramadan has not yet begun. Without food these sods get nasty."
She doesn't limit what she says to the perpetrators, but an entire section of society.
The media play a part. They refuse to use the word "Daesh" as opposed to Islamic State.
That's a massive difference.
Re: It looks like the nice outspoken lady has been given her marching orders...
Your having a laugh if you think you could say half the things Muslims say and not get arrested....you remember when our troops were coming back and a large crowd of muslims were standing there screaming insults to them,,,one law for them and another for the rest....... before anyone jumps on their high horse, and starts accusing me of being this and that, I believe there should be one law for everyone living, in a country, no matter what religion you believe in.. we recently had the grooming case on tv ....you still want to tell me there isn't one law for us and another not to upset them.

I wonder how much hatred and drivel she would have spouted about had she not become a minor celebrity due to the Apprentice TV show?
As long as someone is paying she will keep spouting..... Let's hope the money runs out soon, or the airtime.... I'm not bothered which comes first.

Actually you are wrong. On Speaker's Corner I have heard nonsense from every political angle spoken. Sunday is the day to go. Plus, the EDL et al regularly hold rallies, and you can guarantee they aren't singing about loving their brother muslems.WHL wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2017 11:02 am Your having a laugh if you think you could say half the things Muslims say and not get arrested....you remember when our troops were coming back and a large crowd of muslims were standing there screaming insults to them,,,one law for them and another for the rest....... before anyone jumps on their high horse, and starts accusing me of being this and that, I believe there should be one law for everyone living, in a country, no matter what religion you believe in.. we recently had the grooming case on tv ....you still want to tell me there isn't one law for us and another not to upset them.

I can't recall the last time there was an EDL suicide bomber, or indeed one from UKIP or come to think of it the BNP.

I don't like the EDL or any fanatics, what I am saying is there needs to be an even playing field, I would suggest there's more likelihood the Police would jump on a EDL member quicker then an extremist Islamist shouting insults to returning troops as we have all whitnessed...these people call for the destruction of homosexuals daily, do you think you or I would get away with it...not a chance.. as I said one country two rules.

You're quite right, hate preachers have got away with inciting their own to bring terror and death to our streets, on our OWN streets. If I started inciting people to bring death to Moslems on our streets, my feet wouldn't touch the ground ! I would like to try it to prove my point, but then again I value my freedom.
Burning our flag and poppies, as you say insulting our troops and police, why are we putting up with it ?

Simple, if you speak out against it you are racist and likely to be taken to court.
Free speach for the UK indigenous population is finished.
The PC brigade are responsible.

Neither can I. But that has nothing whatsoever to do with free speech, which is what we were discussing.

It's sad that we can't get through the hatred some people have for us, we have always had immigrants in the UK, most come and live peaceably amongst us, but when they kill our innocent children, what is the answer ?

It's not just our children..... Don't forget the 64 Syrian kids massacred in the bus bombing last month as they were being rescued from Aleppo.
And how many girls were taken away from their families in Africa?
No good getting ants in our pants only when it arrives on our own doorstep....
Kids are being attacked all the time and not just by Daesh.

Ants in our pants ? If it was your grandchild Jules, you may feel differently.

We should be up in arms about everyone's children being killed or attacked - not just those who happen to have been attacked in UK.... that's my point, Jackie.
I thought you had spoken up on this subject once before but given your reply, maybe I'm getting you mixed up with another forum member?

Jules
Not sure which post you're referring to.
Two of my granddaughter's were at the Manchester concert, as much as I don't want to fall out over this, my feelings are for my family right now. The younger one seems to be ok for the present, her elder sister is the one who can't sleep. Thank God they weren't hurt, but believe me when I say it's not 'ants in the pants'. Please don't demean the hurt that people who have been affected are feeling.
No right now I can't be 'up in arms' about happenings I another country, it's MY country I care about.

It was the one about the Syrian bus attack which took place last month..... but as I said, I may have got it confused and perhaps it wasn't you who was totally disgusted by that particular atrocity.
I'm not going to fall out with you over it either Jackie, because I'm not having a dig at you personally - it's just that I don't only feel for the country where I live. Due to the nature of my hobby and also our online business, I am in contact with people in all corners of the globe and it seems they each get attacked one way or another.
I get mightily peed off when I see these attacks happening elsewhere in the world but find other friends barely give it a mention, or some countries aren't felt to be of any importance especially if the atrocities roll out week in and week out.
Then all at once something happens and everyone sports one of those fancy FB profile images with a flag or a ribbon etc because they suddenly feel that particular incident affects them above all others.
Hope you understand now where I'm coming from..... I'm happy to leave it at that.

We shall have to agree to disagree Jules, I see your point though.
Personally I'm all in favour of a display of patriotism and support for our own, be it flag or ribbon. My eldest granddaughter ran the Liverpool half marathon yesterday, in spite of her experiences on Monday, she wore a yellow ribbon.
I'm happy to leave it at that.

Coming in via Fox News - the Death Toll currently stands at 15
ISIS militants on Monday claimed responsibility for a deadly nighttime bombing outside a popular ice cream shop in central Baghdad where families with children were enjoying a late-night snack after breaking their fast for Ramadan.
